Foundational Black Americans sit at the bottom of the economic ladder in nearly every state — a condition the 2020 Joint Economic Committee report laid bare. We are bringing that record to Capitol Hill and demanding a Congressional hearing. Sign on to put your name — and your organization, if you carry one — on the letter.
Dear Congressperson,
We, the undersigned, are persons seeking government intervention for economic justice for Black Americans.
As you know, according to the 2020 Joint Economic Committee Report, the economic plight of foundational Black Americans is teetering on economic genocide.
That report stated that foundational Black Americans are at the bottom of the economic ladder in every state — Montana being the exception. Combined with the abysmal unemployment numbers, the future of foundational Black Americans is economic extinction in a country of vast wealth; wealth that was created on the chattel enslavement of foundational Black Americans.
This is more than egregious. We have come to Capitol Hill to tell both Houses — and all of Black grassroots — that it must be corrected.
We demand a Congressional hearing.
